About us

Yarik was founded in Riga, Latvia, in 2020, born from a personal need for well-fitting, quality jeans that were unavailable on the market. I’m Hugo, the lead designer and founder. Frustrated by the lack of jeans that fit and matched my style, I decided to make them myself.

Starting with my mother’s sewing machine and leftover fabrics at home, I began crafting jeans. As a self-taught designer, every mistake and challenge along the way shaped my understanding of pattern making and fabric behavior, helping me develop into the designer I am today.

After a few months, I made a significant investment of €1,000 in premium raw denim from France, personally producing 70 to 80 pairs by hand. Recognizing growing demand, I recruited close friends to assist with marketing and brand development.

Today, five years later, Yarik is a fully operational business with overseas manufacturing partners and a dedicated marketing team. I continue to lead the creative vision alongside my co-owner Patrick, who helps steer the company’s growth.

At Yarik, all our designs are created here in Riga, Latvia, combining local creativity with high-quality overseas manufacturing to deliver apparel that reflects passion, craftsmanship, and the pursuit of excellence.
